Simple ‘Kind to Skin’ review

Finding good skin care products is hard. Too hard. Harder than it needs to be. It’s taken me years to find a routine that suits me and my skin (which is as sensitive as my emotions) and with my new found knowledge from many expensive trials and errors as well as studying for my ITEC exams I want to help others to help their skin. And let’s face it, as Irish people our skin needs all of the help it can get. Between sunburn, de-hydration due to one too many pints and nights out, sleeping in make-up from said nights out and then removing whatever’s left the next morning with a baby wipe…NO! THIS NEEDS TO STOP. Not only will your skin be thankful but so will your pillow.

The products I love to use are the ‘Kind To Skin’ range from Simple, not only because they’re easy on the pocket but they leave my skin feeling soft, refreshed and healthy. They’re suitable for all skin types, even sensitive skin as they don’t contain any perfume or harsh chemicals. They’re also Vegan, which is an excess plus if you’re that way inclined. You should cleanse, tone and moisturise twice a day, morning and night. Apply in the morning before or without make-up application and again at night to remove make-up and dirt.

First up, use the ‘Kind To Skin’ purifying cleanser. Rub a healthy dose of this into your skin, this will help to break down any dirt or make-up that’s still there. Remove the cleanser with damp cotton pads in upwards and outwards motion, concentrating on the eyes and mouth as eyeshadows and lipsticks are heavily pigmented and therefore harder to remove.Gently but firmly remove any make-up or dirt remaining until the pad comes away mostly clear, it doesn’t matter how many you use as you want your skin to be clear!

Next up use the ‘Kind To Skin’ smoothing facial toner which is perfect for sensitive skin as it’s alcohol free, meaning it won’t leave your face feeling dried out and irritated. Apply the toner to a cotton pad and as with the cleanser gently but firmly rub around the face in upwards and outwards motions. Your pads should be coming away clear by now. Dab your face with a towel to remove any excess residue and then move on to the moisturiser.

The ‘Kind To Skin’ replenishing moisturiser is absolutely amazing, it genuinely leaves skin feeling as soft and smooth as a baby’s bottom. However it can leave an oily residue on the skin if not completely rubbed in so be warned. Another downfall for this product is that it has no SPF protection so you will need to apply a foundation with SPF afterwards to protect your skin. If you don’t like wearing make-up in sunny weather Simple also has a product called ‘Kind To Skin’ protecting light moisturiser which comes with SPF 15 protection.

Lastly comes the ‘Kind To Skin’ smoothing facial scrub which works to exfoliate your face. I recommend that you exfoliate at least once a week to remove dead skin cells which will give you a clearer complexion and make skin smoother but depending on your skin type you may need to use it more. I use it weekly in my morning shower as it’s easier to remove the granules after rubbing the product into your face. Afterwards you resume cleansing, toning and moisturising as normal.

I couldn’t recommend these products highly enough, they’re so kind to skin and I noticed a difference almost instantaneously. My skin is less red and dry and it’s so much easier to apply make-up as there’s no flakiness thanks to how hydrated it leaves my skin. Anyhow, if you’re looking to change or improve your skin care routine try it yourself and see if it works for you. Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed my first review! Until next time,
